De Stichting Matata heeft op 20 april 2010 bericht ontvangen van WNH, dat de subsidie aanvraag van € 7.200,00 voor de opleiding en training van 36 vrijwilligers in 2010, voor de HIV/AIDS preventie en de basisgezondheidszorg in de plattelandsgemeenschappen is goedgekeurd.
De toegekende subsidie wordt door WNH op 1 juli 2010 overgemaakt op de rekening van Stichting Matata. De Stichting Matata heeft dr. John Malago op de hoogte gebracht van dit heugelijke feit. Zijn reactie was:
”It is wonderful news that we will train another 36 new CHWs (community health workers) for this year. It will be like a miracle that we will have a good number of trained CHWs in the community to help the sick needy people. Would you express our happiness to Erica Waasdorp, CEO from WNH that, the Matata management and Board of Matata are so happy about this grant”
