Op 1 februari 2010 heeft de Stichting Matata Children Hospital Kenya € 2.100,00 ontvangen van het Nederlandse Rode Kruis, afdeling Haarlem en Omstreken. Deze donatie was bestemd voor de aanschaf van 21 nieuwe fietsen voor de Community Health Workers (CHW’s).
Op 5 april 2010 heeft de Stichting Matata onderstaande mail ontvangen van dr. John Malago van het Matata Hospital:
“We are happy to send you pictures of the distribution of the bicycles to the CHW s bought from the money donated funds by the Dutch Red Cross Haarlem Branch. The CHW s were thankful and showered you with a lot of praise and sent a lot of thanks to the Red Cross Haarlem Branch.
